Bachans of Param Guru Huzur Mehtaji Maharaj

Bachan No. 3 

A Shabda was recited in the students' Satsang on the 21* July 1940. 

गुरु प्यारे नज़र करो मेहर भरी ।

(Prem Bani III B. 12(2) S.1) 

After the recitation, Huzur asked the small children:

   "Do you want a look of love or something juicy?" reference being to mangoes that had been kept there at that time,

The children replied - "Nazar Mehar Bhari" (A look of Grace)

Then Huzur said: you should decide now itself as to what you would do after finishing your education when you are grown up and what kind of life you would like to lead You should set your ideals high and all your work should be done keeping that aim in view. Another point to which I would like to draw your attention is that each one of you should try to have a correct sense of your duties In your life you would come across various types of people, towards each of them you have special duty, for example, you should behave with love and affection towards persons younger to you and treat elders with respect and courtesy. In the same way your obligations and duty towards your home and family, your educational institution, your country and Supreme Lord are special and well-defined, which you should discharge properly. You may determine your own priorities among these duties according to your liking and convenience. In my opinion, your duty towards your Alma mater is the most important and essential in present circumstances. If you perform this duty faithfully you will find that the workers there and all your teachers to be your well wishers and sympathetic towards you, and take care of you and look after your comfort in every way. The rules and regulations here will gradually bring about a better and pleasant change in you. You should always remember that you have come here for education and, therefore, you should pay special attention to your studies. Whatever subject or lesson you read in the day, you should revise it in the evening and glance at the next day's lesson so that when it is taught in the classroom you Would understand it better. In this way, in every matter, you should try to kand on your own feet. For instance, whatever home assignment is given to you by the teacher, you should first try to do it by yourself without any help. If there is anything that you are unable to understand, you can seek the help of your friends, class-fellows and teachers. If you work in this way, then you and your teachers' efforts will be rewarded with success A non-satsangi, new student, has just said that rules and regulations of Dayalbagh have been made after all for the good of students. If you also think like that then you should follow them fully. You should plan a week in advance about your food. Although Dayalbagh sweets are good and delicious, in my view, partaking of fresh fruits and fresh milk from the dairy would be much better. Remember one thing more: none of you students should go to the city without permission of your warden or master sahab, specially because all essential things of life are available here. There is no need to go to the city unless something is specially needed. For your strolls and entertainment, large compounds of Dayalbagh and playing fields are suficient. You may go for a walk on the road or by the canal. You should draw up a time-table and work according to it. Here arrangements have been made for physical training in the morning and cach one of you should participate in it. Thus if you work more like this and act upon these instructions, that is, if in the matter of food, walks, physical exercises and studies you act properly according to rules, you would assuredly derive full benefit from studying in Dayalbagh institutions and secing you, your parents will be convinced that by sending their son to Dayalbagh they have well spent their money and in every manner their son has improved.

परम गुरु हुजूर मेहताजी महाराज के बचन

बचन न 3

 21 जुलाई , 1940 को विद्यार्थियों के सतसंग में एक शब्द पढ़ा गया-

गुरु प्यारे नज़र करो मेहर भरी ।

 ( प्रेमबानी भाग 3 , बचन 12 ( 2 ) . शब्द 1 ) 

           हुजूर ने पाठ खत्म होने के बाद छोटे लड़कों से पूछा कि नजर प्रेम भरी चाहते हो या कोई चीज़ रसभरी ? ' हुजूर का इशारा आमों की तरफ़ था जो वहाँ रखे थे ।

लड़कों ने जवाब दिया - " नज़र मेहर भरी । "

            हुजूर ने फ़रमाया आपको अभी से अपने जीवन का आदर्श कायम कर लेना चाहिए । अभी से ही यह बात आपको तय कर लेनी चाहिए कि आप बड़े होने पर और तालीम खत्म होने पर क्या काम करेंगे और किस तरह का जीवन व्यतीत करेंगे । आप के जीवन का आदर्श ऊँचा होना चाहिए और हर काम को उसी आदर्श को सामने रख कर करना चाहिए । दूसरी बात जिसकी तरफ़ मैं आपकी तवज्जह दिलवाना चाहता हूँ वह यह है कि आप में से हर एक को सही कर्तव्य का ज्ञान होना चाहिए । आपको जीवन - काल में कई किस्म के लोगों से वास्ता पड़ता है , हर एक के प्रति आपके खास खास कर्त्तव्य हैं। मिसाल के तौर पर आप लोगों को चाहिए कि अपने छोटों से प्यार व मुहब्बत से बरताव करें और बड़ों के साथ इज्जत व अदब से पेश आवें । इसी तरह से आपके कर्तव्य अपने घर व परिवार , अपने शिक्षालय , अपने देश और कुल मालिक के प्रति भी खास और मुकर्रर हैं जिनका पालन करना आप लोगों के लिए उचित है । आप इन तमाम कर्तव्यों को अपनी पसंद और सुविधा के अनुसार तरतीब दे सकते हैं । मेरी राय में , आपका अपने विद्यालय ( Alma Mater ) के प्रति जो कर्तव्य है , वह खास कर मौजूदा हालत में आप लोगों के लिए सबसे बड़ा और आवश्यक है । अगर आप इस कर्तव्य का अच्छी तरह पालन करेंगे तो आप पायेंगे कि यहाँ के कार्यकर्ता और तमाम अध्यापक आपके हमदर्द और शुभचिंतक हैं और आपके आराम व आसायश का हर तरह ख्याल रखने वाले हैं । और यहाँ के कायदे और पाबंदियाँ धीरे धीरे आपके अंदर एक बेहतर और खुशगवार तबदीली करेंगी । आपको यह ख्याल रखना चाहिए कि आप लोग यहाँ तालीम हासिल करने आये हैं इसलिए अपनी तालीम की तरफ़ खास तवज्जह देनी चाहिए । जो मज़मून या सबक़ आप दिन में पढ़ें , शाम को उसे दोहरा लें और दूसरे रोज़ के लिए सबक़ पर पहले एक नज़र डाल लें जिससे कि दूसरे दिन जब वह सबक़ आपको पढ़ाया जाए तो क्लास में उसे आप अच्छी तरह समझ लें । इस तरह से आपको हर बात में अपने पाँव पर खड़े होने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए । मिसाल के तौर पर जो भी काम आपके अध्यापक आपको घर पर करने को दें , आप को चाहिए कि अव्वल खुद बिना किसी मदद के , उसे करने की कोशिश करें । अगर कोई बात आपकी समझ में न आवे तो आप दोस्तों , सहपाठियों और अधयापकों की मदद ले सकते हैं । अगर आप इस ढंग से चलेंगे तो आपकी व आपके अध्यापकों की मेहनत सफ़ल होगी । अभी एक गैर सतसंगी नये विद्यार्थी ने कहा था कि दयालबाग के क़ायदे व पाबंदियाँ विद्यार्थियों के हित के लिए ही बनाई गई हैं । अगर आपका भी ऐसा ही ख्याल है तो फिर आपको उनकी पाबंदी पूरी तौर पर करनी चाहिए । आपको अपने खान - पान का प्रोग्राम एक हफ्ता पहले से ही बना लेना चाहिए । वैसे दयालबाग की मिठाइयाँ अच्छी व स्वादिष्ट होती हैं , लेकिन मेरी राय में मिठाइयों के मुकाबिले में ताजे फलों और डेरी के ताजे दूध का इस्तेमाल बेहतर होगा । एक बात और याद रखिए कि आप साहबान में से किसी विद्यार्थी को अपने वार्डन साहब या मास्टर साहब की इजाज़त के बगैर शहर में नहीं जाना चाहिए । खास कर जब जीवन की तमाम आवश्यक वस्तुएँ यहाँ मिल जाती हैं तो फिर शहर में जब तक कोई खास ज़रूरत न हो हरगिज नहीं जाना चाहिए । आपकी सैर व मनोविनोद के लिए दयालबाग के बड़े अहाते व खेलने की फ़ील्ड्स काफ़ी हैं । आप सड़क पर या नहर के किनारे सैर व चहल कदमी कर सकते हैं । आपको अपना एक टाइम टेबिल बनाना चाहिए और हर एक काम उसी के मुताबिक़ करना चाहिए । यहाँ पर सुबह वर्जिश का इंतजाम किया गया है , उसमें आपमें से हर एक को शामिल होना चाहिए । गरज यह कि इस तरह अगर आप ज़्यादा काम करेंगे और इन हिदायतों पर अमल करेंगे यानी खान - पान , सैर , पढ़ना - लिखना और वर्जिश सब बातें कायदे और शऊर से करेंगे तो यक़ीनन् आप यहाँ के इंस्टीट्यूशंस ( संस्थाओं ) में पढ़ने का पूरा फ़ायदा उठा सकेंगे और आपके माता - पिता आपको देखकर इस बात का यकीन करेंगे कि उन्होंने अपने लड़के को दयालबाग भेजकर अपने रुपये का सदुपयोग किया और उनका लड़का हर तरह से बेहतर हो गया है ।
